In the heart of the region of l'Alcaletén is located Llucena / Lucena del Cid, a picturesque village in the hinterland of Castellón dubbed "La Perla de la Montaña", just 33 km from the beach. It is located at the top of a massif at the foot of the Penyagolosa (1813 m.) At 568 meters high, with mild winters and cool summers. Around Llucena we have 137 square kilometers of pure nature, with native fauna, being one of the municipal terms with more unevenness of Europe. Thanks to this we can enjoy many outdoor activities, climbing, via ferrata, horse riding, cycling, mountain biking and even caving.

Among the rugged mountains, the Llucena River flows year-round. It has different natural pools to take the bath, we can also find dozens of natural water springs. Along the river is the natural path of the "Ruta dels Molins d’Aigua" a path that leads to different water mills across the riverbed. On September 9, 2016, Llucena hosted the 17th stage of the Tour of Spain, at an epic stage finish at the Mas de la Costa with a 22% slope.

Llucena has its neuralgic point in the main square, surrounded by gothic porticos called "Els Perxes" and crowned by the archpriest church, from there we can stroll through the old town between narrow and sinuous streets with many slopes, to the ducal palace called "El Castell", now an ethnological museum. From there we can enjoy the beautiful views of the Llucena river valley and even see the sea. We can also observe the Muslim watchtower "l'Oró" called the fort in the Carlist wars, at which time Llucena was granted by the then Queen Maria Cristina de Borbón the title of "Heroic Villa" in May 1838. Close by are the runes of the Iberian Tower of Foyos of S. III AC Which is National Monument from 1931 and to the east between the mountains is the hermitage "San Miquel de los Torrocelles" through which passes the GR33 path from Castellon to Penyagolosa, route that is used in the MiM i Csp 115 running competitions.
